November 12, 2013- Albany, Ca. - Well known Belly Dance icon Suhaila Salimpour has announced plans for a Solo show January 11th in the Southside Theater at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco.
Suhaila will perform classic and modern bellydance in her solo show.
She will be accompanied by the original Salimpour Band, a five member Arabic orchestra playing old and modern Middle Eastern classics.
The band is led by Ziad Islambouli (tabl drum, percussion) and Fadi Islambouli (guitar), and they have worked with Suhaila for over 20 years including Byblos in Los Angeles.
The music will include old and modern belly dance classics as well as selections from Suhaila's popular Arabic Musicals Volume 1 album; favorite selections include Raks Suhaila and Raks Jamila.
Fort Mason Center is located on Marina Boulevard at Buchanan Street, along the northern waterfront between Aquatic Park and the Marina Green, within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. A perfect venue for Suhaila the center engages and connects people with arts and culture on a historic waterfront campus.
Fort Mason is a complex of renovated military buildings, the hub of national park. Visitors to the center and the Southside Theater for Suhaila's show will be part of the vitality and diversity that make San Francisco one of the most exciting cities in the world.

The Southside Theater is an historic 160 plush seat, wheelchair accessible performance space featuring an elevated, proscenium stage creating an inviting atmosphere for patrons.
